Sprinx has been selected to provide its advanced video analytics technology for the Čebrať twin-tube road tunnel, part of the D1 Hubová – Ivachnová highway section in Slovakia. With a total length of approximately 3.6 km, the Čebrať tunnel is the third longest road tunnel in Slovakia and will play a crucial role in enhancing traffic flow and safety in the region.
The project was commissioned by the National Road Authority Národná diaľničná spoločnosť (NDS) and developed in collaboration with our distributor Gemtech and the system integrator ADTS. Together, we have delivered a state-of-the-art Automatic Incident Detection (AID) system, specifically engineered for the challenges of the Čebrať tunnel.
At the heart of the installation lies traffix.ai, Sprinx’s AI-based video analytics platform designed for road and tunnel safety. Its deep learning and 3D object tracking capabilities ensure high-precision incident detection with drastically reduced false alarms.
Complementing traffix.ai is dragon, the centralized management platform that consolidates all incident data, alarms, and traffic statistics from the analyzers into a single interface. dragon ensures seamless integration with third-party infrastructures such as SCADA, VMS, and ITS platforms, and provides advanced tools for centralized configuration, diagnostics, and performance monitoring.
A defining feature of the Čebrať tunnel AID system is its redundant architecture, purposefully designed to ensure maximum service continuity. To address this, the project incorporates both failover mechanisms for traffix.ai and redundancy features within dragon, guaranteeing full operability even in the event of hardware or software failures. This architecture underscores the stakeholders’ strong commitment to operational continuity and resilience.
Through the synergy of traffix.ai and dragon, the Čebrať tunnel benefits from a flexible, scalable, and fault-tolerant AID infrastructure. The solution demonstrates Sprinx’s ability to provide high-availability video analytics that combine AI-driven incident detection, operational resilience, and seamless interoperability ensuring maximum safety for one of Slovakia’s most critical transport infrastructures.
