At Intertraffic Amsterdam 2026, Sprinx will introduce a new conversation format designed to bring practical insights from the field to the international mobility community.
Throughout the exhibition week at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre, we will host “The 20’ Spotlight – Mobility Experts Experience”, a series of short daily conversations with industry leaders discussing how AI-powered video intelligence is transforming mobility and traffic management.
Held live at the Sprinx booth 01.308, the sessions will feature voices from highway concessionaires, urban mobility projects, infrastructure operators, and international experts involved in defining standards and validation frameworks for safety systems.
The initiative aims to create a space for direct dialogue on how innovation is applied in real-world mobility environments, moving beyond theory to focus on operational challenges, measurable impact, and the evolving role of artificial intelligence in infrastructure management.
Across the series, speakers will share their experience deploying AI-based technologies in highways, cities and critical infrastructure, discussing what works in practice, how solutions must adapt to operational constraints, and how intelligent systems can improve safety, efficiency and the overall user experience.

From infrastructure to intelligence: how a brand-new Brazilian highway is shaping the future of ITS
Date: Tuesday, March 10 – 3:30 PM
The first spotlight will focus on how a newly developed highway corridor in Brazil is redefining intelligent transport systems in South America.
The session will feature Luis Felipe Neves, CEO of Concessionária Tamoios, joined by Denis Henrique Souza, Automation & Technology Manager.
Using the Tamoios Highway as a case study, the discussion will explore how AI-powered video analytics can transform highway operations—from traditional monitoring to real-time intelligent decision support.
With nearly 300 cameras integrated into an advanced ITS architecture, the system enables automatic detection of critical events such as stopped vehicles, wrong-way driving and anomalies inside tunnels. This approach allows operators to reduce response times, improve traffic safety and enhance overall operational efficiency, demonstrating how AI-driven infrastructure can turn highways into intelligent mobility systems.

Milano Living Lab: driving the future of autonomous and connected mobility

The second session will shift the focus to urban mobility experimentation through the Milano Living Lab, an initiative exploring connected, cooperative and autonomous transport technologies in real city conditions.
Speaker Federico Zoofito, Transportation Engineer at A2A, will present insights from the project and discuss how cities can move toward fully cooperative mobility ecosystems.
The Living Lab integrates autonomous public transport testing, Vehicle-to-Infrastructure communication and AI-based urban data collection. Through technologies such as AI-powered camera systems, smart intersections and connected infrastructure, the initiative provides a unique environment to evaluate technological performance, understand user impacts and support the development of regulatory and operational frameworks for next-generation mobility services.

From design to Maintenance: new guidelines for tunnel safety and AID system performance assessment

The session will feature Sevèrine Besson from CETU – Centre d’Études des Tunnels and Ricardo Miranda from PIARC Technical Committee 4.4 on Road Tunnels.
During the session, Sevèrine Besson will present for the first time on an international stage the updated international guidelines for AID systems. The new framework updates the previous 2015 document and incorporates the latest technological advances enabled by artificial intelligence, defining requirements for system design, testing and performance evaluation.
Miranda will complement the discussion with insights from tunnel projects and safety assessments worldwide, focusing on the practical challenges of deploying AI-based technologies in critical infrastructure environments.
Together, the speakers will highlight why aligning innovation with real operational conditions—through proper system design, reliable performance evaluation and effective maintenance—is essential to improving tunnel safety.
